Patricroft Methodist Church came into being with the merger of Trinity Church and Ebenezer, when it had become obvious that it wasn’t economical to maintain two buildings. At first Trinity was used for the Sunday school and meetings, and Ebenezer for Sunday Worship. The Reverend Alan Dye led the first service of Patricroft Methodist Church on the Saturday at Trinity church, followed by Sunday worship at Ebenezer. Everyone wanted a new building for the new Patricroft Methodist Church and fundraising got underway. Finally the church as we now know it, was built on the Trinity site. In years to come, Barton Methodist and Winton Methodist amalgamated with Patricroft to give us the church we have today.
